ASTM E 1354-15 Fire Testing Method
ASTM E 1354-15 is a fire-testing method used to determine the amount of heat that is needed for combustion from the time the flame occurs and the amount of smoke produced. ASTM E1354 uses an oxygen consumption calorimeter to measure the amount of smoke and heat generated by specific material combustion. Additionally, it measures the amount of time the flame is sustained and the mass-loss rate that are important factors for companies in manufacturing vehicles to show the risks of using specific materials.
